president obama is undeniably intelligent and extremely charismatic. but maybe that's the problem. much like religion has been over the years, he now seems to be the new opiate of the public. his magnetism sidetracks people from questioning his recent policies, which completely differ from his plans during his candidacy. at the end of the day, he is just a politician, and not that pseudo-messiah you (and i) have all been hoping (and voted) for.
what can i do? ^_^
I like the Marx reference, and I agree that his charismatic and personable manner often blinds people to the impact that his policy decisions have in both the domestic and international arenas. However, many people have become disabused of his putative messiah status and are in fact questioning, often vociferously, his recent equivocations and the policy reversals that so clearly go against his erstwhile rhetorical grain. Nontheless, he is far preferable to the alternative. *You mis-spelled 'thereof.'
ReplyDeleteHmm. This sounds strangely familiar to just about everything I told you about the obamster when I was in nyc....he is undeniably intelligent, but he also used his charm and a LOT of feel good rhetoric to swoon the voting public into thinking he was the savior to all our problems. And that slim shady, is why I didn't and don't like him.
