Public Lecture: The Ragged Edge of the World with Eugene Linden

Veteran contributor to the National Geographic, Time, and the New York Times, Eugene Linden will be unearthing slippery and fast- changing frontiers in his lecture “The Ragged Edge of the World.” This will serve as an elegy for what has been lost, as well as a celebration of cultures resilient enough to maintain their individuality, traditions and customs. Linden’s intimate, eyewitness accounts of cargo cults in New Guinea, practices Pygmy tribes in the forests of Africa, and the positive conservation policies in Cuba, are fascinating tales of environmental, political, social, and cultural transformation.
